Welcome colleagues and students!
This site is designed to provide a central location for resources on the material history of Early Islam and the Late Antique Near East.
It originates in the work of the ERC-funded project, Embedding Conquest: Naturalising Muslim Rule in the Early Islamic Empire (600-1000), at Leiden University, but is not limited to the scope of the project.
We welcome collaboration. The site is updated by a team of editors and contributors who check and update content. If you are interested in getting involved, then please contact Ed Hayes. For any suggestions about additional material to include, then please contact the editors of the webpage in question.
For more free-flowing discussion, sharing of articles etc., there is also a humanities commons Discussion Group on Material Sources for Early Islam and the Late Antique Middle East associated with this site.
